Why should textiles be heavy metal-free?
Sure, heavy metals are effective against bacteria. They work by leaching into the bacteria, killing them. The problem is that leaching goes on and on.
By constant emissions, heavy metal textile treatments make silver and other heavy metals end up in nature and aquatic systems, where they shouldn’t be.
